BIG WONDER. LOCAL ROOTS.
Understanding starts
with an encounter.
Some of the most fascinating animals are the ones people know the least about.
Founded by Jacob Wright in Grass Lake, Great Lakes Reptile Education brings a passion for reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids into community learning. Our focus is simple: help people understand these animals, appreciate their place in nature, and learn what responsible care really means.
From a first introduction to a deeper conversation about husbandry, GLRE makes room for questions, discovery, and a new perspective.

CURIOSITY WITH CARE
Respect for every animal.
Room for every question.
Animal welfare and thoughtful education guide the experience. There’s no pressure to touch an animal to learn something extraordinary.
01Animal welfare comes first
Animal participation and any interaction depend on suitability, animal comfort, and event conditions.
02Learn at your comfort level
Observe, ask questions, and get curious. Discuss your group’s ages, accessibility needs, and preferences when you inquire.
03Better understanding, better care
We connect fascinating animal biology with the responsibility of providing appropriate habitats and care.
